interruptions architecture magazine, jordan...
DRAFT
REPORT
VER.1
INTERRUPTIONS
space was once a mere result of the enclosure of strict rigid boundaries before it was
reborn as poetry.. as a praise, as a celebration.. space was then music that whirls
around us, frozen music that extends not within time..
not throughout time.. but rather as an 'interruption' of time
'Interruptions'_ is a small self-funded project for starting a limited-scale home published
architectural magazine
the project still merely being sketched out, needs the support of you, students of
architecture, mainly at j.u.s.t. and students in Jordan and any related or intersected
fields ranging from art, to philosophy to poetry to psychology..
in.ter.rup.tion –noun
1. an act or instance of interrupting.
2. the state of being interrupted.
3. something that interrupts.
4. cessation; intermission.
v. in.ter.rupt.ed, in.ter.rupt.ing, in.ter.rupts
To break the continuity or uniformity of
To hinder or stop the action or discourse of (someone) by breaking in
"interruption" is 'instance'.. 'breaking continuity or uniformity'..
Architecture has been often restricted to boundaries of society, and heavily muted
creativity.. That being mostly associated to societies with conditions similar to those
that envelope us...
those conditions are the cause of the "uniformity that needs to be broken"
i.e. "interrupted"
and if the act of interruption of such rigidity and uniformity was to be linked to a
time then it would be "instance"
the magazine would aim to inject tiny, limited but yet fresh and life-full portions of
"interruptions" ones that would break the uniformity and the standardization of the
thinking and analytical process.. Those interruptions would mainly interrupt relative
fields, and intersecting aspects ranging to architecture, philosophy, art, poetry,
socio-psychology and such..
// INTERRUPTIONS- ABOUT US
INTERRUPTIONS magazine, is an experiment that aims to deploy creativity
and talent of young architects and architecture students to inject portions of
interruptions to the sequence of standardized architectural thinking and
analysis; Thus, allowing a chance to re-analyze architecture based on our
own backgrounds and culture-motivated standards to develop new ways to
understand, alter and perceive architecture both locally and internationally.
INTERRUPTIONS locates its individuality in its culture-inspired identity and its
unique intellectual approach to architectural analysis- embracing philosophy
on many scales to restore the philosophical essence of Architecture and its
human dimension.
Maintaining its main young targeted group of Architects and Architecture
students, INTERRUPTIONS is to be supported by the presence of prominent
intellectual figures who would richen the magazine with their knowledge and
experience as constant guidance.
Apart from the monthly magazine exclusive coverage, the magazine would
include topics ranging from local architecture, campus events, juries and
projects to and analysis to international architectural scene. The magazine
would also offer a calendar of artistic, musical, cultural and architectural
events taking place.
INTERRUPTIONS is shaped by participation and contributions of individuals,
the topics would allow a vast interaction in order to respond to the questions
and needs of the local architectural community; resulting a rich diversity of
thoughts, ideas and opinions.
